Empagliflozin 10 mg is an SGLT2 (sodium-glucose cotransporter-2) inhibitor used primarily to manage Type 2 diabetes mellitus. Indications :
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise, to improve glycemic control.
- Reduction of cardiovascular death in appropriate patients with Type 2 diabetes and established cardiovascular disease.
- Reduction of cardiovascular death and hospitalization for heart failure in adults with heart failure.
- Reduction of risk of sustained decline in kidney function and end-stage kidney disease in appropriate adults with chronic kidney disease.
Common Side Effects :
- Increased urination
- Urinary tract infections
- Genital fungal/yeast infections
- Increased thirst
- Dehydration or dizziness, particularly due to fluid loss
