
Azelnidipine 8 mg is a calcium-channel blocker (dihydropyridine type) used primarily to lower high blood pressure. It relaxes and widens the blood vessels, reducing vascular resistance and helping bring blood pressure under control. It is indicated for essential hypertension, including Stage I and Stage II hypertension.
Indications :
- Essential hypertension
- Stage I hypertension
- Stage II hypertension
- May be prescribed alone or along with other antihypertensive medicines when additional BP control is required.
Common Side Effects :
- Headache or heaviness of the head
- Dizziness or light-headedness
- Nausea or stomach discomfort
- Constipation or abdominal discomfort
- Palpitations or hot flushes
- Mild weakness or fatigue
- Swelling/edema
- Increased urination in some patients
Rare/important: liver-function abnormalities, significant fall in blood pressure, slow heart rate or conduction abnormalities, and allergic reactions such as rash or angioedema have been reported.
Precautions :
- Take only in the dose prescribed by the physician.
Storage :
- Store below 25°C.
- Protect from light and moisture.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Keep the tablets in their original packaging until use.
