Description

This combination medicine is used for the effective management of high blood pressure, especially in patients who require better and sustained BP control. Telmisartan works by blocking angiotensin-II receptors, leading to relaxation and widening of blood vessels, thereby reducing vascular resistance. Cilnidipine is a dual calcium channel blocker (L-type and N-type) that relaxes blood vessels and also reduces sympathetic nerve activity, helping to control blood pressure without significantly increasing heart rate. Together, they provide smooth, long-lasting blood pressure control and reduce stress on the heart, brain, and kidneys. Indications : Hypertension (high blood pressure) Patients not adequately controlled on single-drug therapy Hypertension with increased vascular resistance Patients experiencing ankle edema with other calcium channel blockers Prevention of cardiovascular complications such as stroke and heart attack Side Effects : Common Side Effects Dizziness or light-headedness Headache Flushing Fatigue Less Common / Rare Ankle or foot swelling (peripheral edema) Palpitations Low blood pressure (hypotension) Nausea or abdominal discomfort Seek medical advice if severe dizziness, swelling, or persistent palpitations occur.
