S-Amlodipine 5 mg is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). By relaxing and widening the blood vessels, it reduces vascular resistance and helps lower blood pressure, thereby reducing cardiovascular risk. Amlodipine is also indicated for the symptomatic treatment of chronic stable angina and vasospastic (Prinzmetal's) angina.
Indications :
- Hypertension
- Chronic stable angina
- Vasospastic/Prinzmetal's angina
- May be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive medicines
- May be used with other anti-anginal medicines when prescribed
Common Side Effects :
- Ankle or leg swelling (peripheral edema)
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Flushing
- Fatigue
- Palpitations
- Nausea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Sleepiness/drowsiness
Peripheral edema is one of the most characteristic adverse effects and can be dose-related.
Precautions :
- Use only as directed by a physician.
Storage :
- Store at 20–25°C.
- Keep in a dry place, away from excessive heat and moisture.
- Protect from light and keep in the original/tightly closed container.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Do not store in the bathroom.
