This combination medicine is used to effectively control high blood pressure by working through two complementary mechanisms. Telmisartan relaxes and widens blood vessels by blocking the action of angiotensin-II, reducing vascular resistance. Metoprolol Succinate ER slows the heart rate and decreases the force of heart contraction, reducing cardiac workload and oxygen demand. Together, they provide sustained 24-hour blood pressure control and help protect the heart, brain, and kidneys from long-term damage caused by uncontrolled hypertension. Indications : Hypertension (high blood pressure) Patients requiring dual therapy for better BP control Hypertension with increased heart rate Prevention of cardiovascular complications such as heart attack and stroke Patients not adequately controlled on single-drug therapy Side Effects : Common Side Effects Dizziness or light-headedness Fatigue or weakness Headache Slow heart rate (bradycardia) Less Common / Rare : Low blood pressure (hypotension) Cold hands and feet Nausea or stomach discomfort Shortness of breath Increased potassium levels Sleep disturbances Dosage : (as prescribed by the physician) One tablet once daily, or as prescribed by the physician Preferably taken at the same time each day Can be taken with or without food Tablet should be swallowed whole (do not crush or chew due to ER formulation) Dosage adjustment depends on blood pressure response and patient condition. Precautions : Not recommended in patients with severe bradycardia, heart block, or cardiogenic shock Use cautiously in patients with kidney or liver impairment Monitor blood pressure, heart rate, kidney function, and potassium levels regularly Avoid sudden discontinuation, especially due to metoprolol (risk of rebound hypertension) Use with caution in diabetes, asthma, or COPD Alcohol may increase dizziness—avoid or limit consumption Storage Instructions : Store at room temperature (below 25°C) Keep away from heat, moisture, and direct sunlight Keep out of reach of children Do not use after the expiry date
