Tobramycin eye drops are antibiotic eye medications used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes. They work by stopping the growth of bacteria responsible for infections such as conjunctivitis and other external eye infections. These eye drops help reduce redness, swelling, irritation, discharge, and discomfort associated with bacterial eye conditions. Tobramycin is effective only against bacterial infections and does not work for viral or fungal eye infections.
Indications :
- Bacterial conjunctivitis (pink eye)
- Eyelid infections (blepharitis)
- Corneal infections
- External eye infections caused by susceptible bacteria
- Post-operative eye infection prevention (when prescribed by a doctor)
Side Effects :
- Mild burning or stinging sensation
- Eye irritation or redness
- Itching of the eyes or eyelids
- Temporary blurred vision
- Watery eyes
- Swelling of eyelids
- Increased sensitivity to light
Seek medical attention if severe allergy, intense swelling, rash, or worsening eye pain occurs.
Storage :
- Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place.
- Keep the bottle tightly closed after use.
- Protect from direct sunlight and heat.
- Do not freeze.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Avoid touching the dropper tip to prevent contamination.
