Povidone Iodine 5% w/w is widely used as a topical antiseptic for cleansing wounds, preventing infection in minor cuts, burns, and abrasions, and disinfecting skin before surgical procedures. It is also effective in managing fungal and bacterial skin infections, ulcers, and dressing wounds in both clinical and home care settings.
Indications :
Minor cuts, wounds, and abrasions
Burns (minor first- and second-degree)
Surgical wound dressing
Skin disinfection before injections or procedures
Ulcers and infected skin lesions
Fungal and bacterial skin infections
Bed sores (pressure ulcers)
Dosage & Directions for Use :
Clean and dry the affected area
Apply directly to the skin using cotton/gauze
Use 1–3 times daily or as directed by a physician
Can be used for dressing wounds
Precautions :
For external use only
Avoid contact with eyes
Do not apply on large areas for prolonged periods
Use cautiously in patients with thyroid disorders
Avoid in newborns unless prescribed
