Itraconazole 65 mg is a broad-spectrum antifungal medication used for the treatment of various fungal infections affecting the skin, nails, mouth, lungs, and other parts of the body. It belongs to the triazole class of antifungal agents and works by inhibiting the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of the fungal cell membrane, thereby stopping the growth and spread of fungi. Itraconazole is commonly prescribed in infections caused by dermatophytes, yeasts, and molds, including conditions such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, candidiasis, pityriasis versicolor, and fungal nail infections.
