
Dapagliflozin 10 mg is used to help control blood glucose levels in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus, along with diet and exercise. It is also used to reduce the risk of hospitalization for heart failure and cardiovascular complications in appropriate patients, and to help slow the progression of chronic kidney disease (CKD) in eligible adults. It works by increasing the amount of glucose and sodium excreted through the urine.
Indications:
- Type 2 diabetes mellitus as an adjunct to diet and exercise.
- Reduction of the risk of hospitalization for heart failure in appropriate patients.
- Treatment of heart failure with reduced or preserved ejection fraction, as clinically appropriate.
- Reduction of the risk of sustained decline in kidney function, end-stage kidney disease, and cardiovascular outcomes in eligible patients with chronic kidney disease.
Side Effects:
- Increased urination
- Genital fungal infections
- Urinary tract infections
- Dehydration or low blood pressure
- Dizziness
- Nausea
- Changes in blood lipid levels
- Rarely, diabetic ketoacidosis, which requires urgent medical attention
Storage:
Store at room temperature, in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the tablets in their original packaging and out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date.
