Isosorbide Dinitrate (20 mg) + Hydralazine Hydrochloride (37.5 mg) is a combination medicine primarily used in the management of heart failure. Isosorbide dinitrate works by relaxing and widening blood vessels, reducing the workload on the heart and improving blood flow. Hydralazine hydrochloride helps lower blood pressure by relaxing the arteries, making it easier for the heart to pump blood throughout the body. Together, these medicines improve cardiac efficiency, reduce symptoms of heart failure, enhance exercise tolerance, and help decrease the risk of hospitalization related to heart failure.
Indications :
- Chronic heart failure (CHF)
- Heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF)
- Adjunct therapy in patients with persistent heart failure symptoms
- Reduction of cardiac workload
- Improvement of exercise capacity in heart failure patients
- Management of symptoms such as shortness of breath and fatigue associated with heart failure
- Patients intolerant to ACE inhibitors or ARBs (as advised by a physician)
- Supportive treatment to improve quality of life in heart failure
Common Side Effects :
- Headache
- Dizziness or lightheadedness
- Low blood pressure (hypotension)
- Flushing
- Rapid heartbeat (tachycardia)
- Nausea
- Fatigue
- Palpitations
