
Fusidic Acid 2% w/w is a topical antibiotic used for the treatment of bacterial skin infections caused by susceptible bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus. It helps eliminate infection, reduces redness, swelling, irritation, and promotes faster healing of affected skin areas. It is commonly prescribed for infected cuts, wounds, eczema, dermatitis, impetigo, and other superficial skin infections.
Indications :
- Impetigo (school sores)
- Infected eczema and dermatitis
- Infected cuts, wounds, and abrasions
- Folliculitis (infection of hair follicles)
- Paronychia (infection around nails)
- Secondary bacterial skin infections
- Minor burns with bacterial infection
- Infected insect bites
Side Effects :
Most people tolerate Fusidic Acid well, but some may experience:
- Mild burning or stinging sensation
- Itching at the application site
- Skin irritation
- Redness or rash
- Dry skin
- Contact dermatitis (rare)
- Allergic reactions (very rare)
Storage :
- Store below 25°C in a cool and dry place.
