Progesterone 200 mg SR tablet is primarily used to supplement low progesterone levels in women and plays a key role in maintaining reproductive health. It is commonly prescribed to support early pregnancy by helping the uterus maintain a suitable environment for implantation and reducing the risk of miscarriage, especially in cases of hormonal deficiency or IVF treatments. It is also used to regulate menstrual cycles in women with irregular periods or amenorrhea, and to treat abnormal uterine bleeding caused by hormonal imbalance. In infertility management, it supports the luteal phase to improve chances of conception. Additionally, it is used as part of hormone replacement therapy (HRT) along with estrogen to protect the uterine lining from overgrowth (endometrial hyperplasia) in menopausal women.
